When Will A Mother Hamster Stop Giving Milk To Her Babies?
the mother hamster had 5 babies but one is disable its legs has no strength and its very weak (can’t walk or stand straight) it needs mother milk. the weak one is like 2cm long but the others are 3.5cm long.it is already 2 weeks old. btw mine is a dwarf hamster.
Baby hamsters are usually weaned after about two weeks. Around that time, if a baby tries to nurse, you will see the mother push it away. If you put food in the cage, and all the babies run to the food bowl, chances are they are no longer nursing from the mother.
I’m sure you don’t want to hear this, but the disabled hamster has a very small chance of surviving. The mother can’t be coaxed into nursing it, once she’s ready to wean them, she’s ready and nothing will change that. You might try feeding the little one with a dropper and some regular milk mixed with a vitamin supplement, but it needs to start eating grains to grow properly.
